Region X Vice President

In the Region X Vice President race, Michael MacDonald won with 67% of the vote. Congratulations, Mike!

The Regional Vice Presidents serve on the National Executive Board, the body of the union that sets policy and direction during the time between National Conventions. The RVP’s main duties are mostly to provide support and leadership to the members of the union within that region. The NATCA Constitution describes their jobs:

Section 6. The Regional Vice Presidents, subject to the discretion of the President, shall administer the affairs of their respective Regions, and shall implement all policies established by this Constitution and the National Executive Board.

They shall provide guidance and assistance to locals and local officers in their respective areas.

RVPs are on “official time”, meaning their salary is paid by the government and continues at the same level it was at in the facility to which they are assigned; however, they are detailed to NATCA business on a full-time basis.

Region X entails employees in bargaining units in the United States, its territories and possessions, and other countries/territories where NATCA bargaining unit members are employed, as determined by the National Executive Board. These bargaining units are, generally, any/all units that are NOT made up of air traffic controllers, TMCs, or Air Traffic Division staff specialists.
